MultiChoice
Multichoice deploys the terminal to load prepaid satellite Television channels onto
the DSTV smartcard at various locations in Africa.
The card details of the smart card is entered into the device, the card holder chooses
the channels that they want to watch for the month and then make payment for this
service on a prepaid basis. The transaction is transmitted via EEC to the Multichoice
head office and the smartcard is then loaded with the selection of channels that
the client wants and has paid for.
This VAS application is currently being re-developed for South African purposes
so that card payments can be taken by the merchants for prepaid bouquets.
